A clapper has been used in tailoring for centuries. My grandfather was a master tailor and I remember the smooth wooden clappers in action as a child. I didn’t know quilters used them too but so they should!!! Makes a huge difference to seams. There is much on the internet about how to use them.

The quilters clapper just works for me - it sets seams just that bit better, sets those pesky points just a bit pointier! and when using adhesive bias binding - utter genius. the glue doesnt set and bind until it is cooling, and this clapper pulls out the heat and sets the glue. Worth every penny.
